Examinations

Navigating exams can be a challenging yet crucial aspect of a pupil’s academic journey, and at Heathcote Sixth Form, we provide comprehensive exam guidance in accordance with JCQ (Joint Council for Qualifications) guidelines. Our commitment is to ensure that pupils are well-prepared and supported throughout the examination process.

This years GCSE, AS and A level exams will be held between 5 May and 24 June 2025.

Our dedicated team of educators follows JCQ guidelines meticulously, providing pupils with clear information on examination regulations, expectations, and procedures. We place a strong emphasis on maintaining the integrity of the examination process, and we work diligently to ensure that pupils are fully informed about the importance of adhering to ethical standards.

Things to know

Exam Access Arrangement

Before exams, pupils are assessed for any specific access needs they may have. This proactive approach allows us to identify and implement appropriate accommodations tailored to individual requirements. These access arrangements may include extra time, a separate room for exams, the provision of a scribe, or other adjustments that cater to the specific needs of the pupil.

In cases of emergency, we have established protocols to swiftly address unforeseen access needs that may arise. Our dedicated support staff work closely with pupils, parents, and relevant professionals to promptly assess the situation and implement appropriate measures to ensure that pupils can undertake their examinations with the necessary support.
