Heathcote School & Science College is celebrating another year of improving A Level results, with the Class of 2026 achieving stronger outcomes across key measures – demonstrating why Heathcote Sixth Form is an increasingly strong choice for pupils after GCSEs.
There was a real sense of pride and excitement at Heathcote Sixth Form this morning as Year 13 pupils received their results and celebrated university places, apprenticeships and exciting destinations.
The results show continued improvement. 57% of entries achieved A*-B and 82% achieved A*-C, while most importantly, 100% achieved A*-E, meaning every pupil successfully passed their A Levels. The average point score has also risen to this year.
The Sixth Form has also achieved an outstanding ALPS 2, placing Heathcote Sixth Form in the top 10% nationally for pupil progress and demonstrating the impact of high-quality teaching, support and high expectations.
The strength of the results is reflected in some outstanding individual achievements. Damilola achieved three A grades and will study Computer Science at Queen Mary University of London, while Kayla achieved four A Levels, including two A* and two A grades, and will study Molecular Biology at Imperial College London.
Gabriel and Daniel both achieved two A grades and an A*. Gabriel will study Mathematics and Statistics at Queen Mary University of London, while Daniel will study Psychology at York University.
Daniel’s family were particularly keen to celebrate his journey, sharing that moving to Heathcote in Year 12 was the best decision he ever made. They said he has achieved far beyond their expectations and has thoroughly enjoyed his time at Heathcote.
Ellie achieved D*D D*D and will study Biomedical Science in Hertfordshire. Other pupils are moving on to exciting destinations, with Anthony heading to King’s College London to study Natural Sciences, Amir beginning an apprenticeship with Aeon, and Ishrat taking up an apprenticeship with the BBC.
Damilola summed up the feelings of many of the cohort, saying he is “very grateful for all the support I have had” and that he “can’t believe my time has come to an end”. He was, however, quick to reassure staff that he would be back.
The school was delighted to be joined by local councillors Councillor Wing and Councillor Adams, who shared in the celebrations with Heathcote’s top-performing pupils and congratulated them on their achievements.

Having my own son receive his results from Heathcote today has made this morning particularly special and given me an even greater appreciation of what today means for our families the pride, excitement and perhaps a little nervousness as our young people take their next steps. I want to thank our staff, parents and carers for their support and high expectations, and wish every member of the Class of 2026 the very best for their future.”
For pupils receiving their GCSE results next week, Heathcote Sixth Form still has some places available for September.
